We have another exciting week coming up at PHMS! This week features boys basketball games, Yearbook Group Photo Day, the start of our PTO fundraiser—“Donate for Dough,” the National History Day competition, and music events. We’re also looking forward to a long weekend, with no school next Monday, February 16 and Tuesday, February 17. Let’s have a great week, Panthers!! 💙🐾

🚀 We are thrilled to congratulate Bentley, Ruby, Hope, and Elizabeth on having their proposal accepted for the NASA TechRise Student Challenge! 🎉Their experiment, “Mystifying Moondust,” was selected as one of 60 winning teams nationwide. 🌍✨ This summer, their experiment will fly on a NASA-sponsored suborbital flight, where the team will work in collaboration with NASA TechRise mentors to turn their idea into a real, flight-ready experiment. 🛰️ Students will gain hands-on experience using sensors and scientific hardware to collect data in microgravity and space-like conditions, helping advance space exploration. We can’t wait to see where this experience takes them. The future is bright—and it’s heading to space! 🌟🚀

🌍✈️ 7th Grade Social Studies Goes Global! ✈️🌍 Our 7-3 Social Studies students shared what they learned about the culture of countries they studied with parents and peers. From traditions and food to history and customs, it was so fun to “travel” the world without ever leaving the PHMS library. 🌎📚

Patrick Henry 8th grade social studies classes had a special visitor! 👮♂️ Our School Resource Officer joined students for a Q&A and meaningful discussion about the Bill of Rights, helping bring these important freedoms to life through real-world examples and thoughtful conversation. Students’ favorite part of the visit was getting to try on the SRO’s vest! Thank you, Officer Ragland, for taking the time to connect with our students and support their learning!

Friday, January 23, 2026, will be a Remote Learning Day in the Sioux Falls School District!
iPads and Chromebooks were sent home with each student earlier today. We will not have in-person learning in the schools, but students are expected to connect to their Canvas account from home for assignments and learning resources. They have practiced this at school and know what is expected of them.
