What a FINAL Friday at Patrick Henry! 🎉 Last Friday was packed with learning and celebrations across our school:
🦈 Team 7-2 wowed us with their Shark Tank presentations
🧪 Team 6-3 shared their Hero in Science presentations
📚 Our 7th graders celebrated Outsiders Day
🚀 The NASA TechRise Team showcased their final presentation and hard work
💙 We also celebrated our incredible mentors at our Mentor Party and thanked them for the time, support, and encouragement they shared with students this year!
🐥And the excitement continued as Team 6-3 shared the chicks that hatched earlier in the week with other classrooms around Patrick Henry! Classrooms had the chance to “chick-sit” while the chicks spent the day spreading excitement throughout the building.

Patrick Henry was buzzing with excitement on Tuesday morning as we welcomed our incoming 6th graders for a visit! Students explored the building, learned more about life at Patrick Henry, listened to performances by our Jazz Band and City Lights groups, and asked some great questions! We loved meeting this future group of Panthers and are looking forward to welcoming them to Patrick Henry next Fall!

Earlier this week, Patrick Henry 8th graders stepped back in time as the Old Courthouse Museum brought interactive Civil War presentations to our school! This annual 8th grade tradition gives students an opportunity to better understand the life of a Union soldier during the Civil War. Reenactors taught students how to march and shared information about Civil War flags, tents, and the gear soldiers carried and used. Teams 8-1, 8-2, and 8-3 all participated in this engaging learning experience. Thank you to the Old Courthouse Museum for helping history come alive for our students!

Panthers, this is our last full week of school—let’s finish strong! Stay focused, keep working hard, and make these final days count. 💛💙

In honor of Teacher Appreciation Week, we’re taking a moment to recognize the incredible educators of Patrick Henry. In this video, students share special messages to surprise their teachers—reminding us just how much those daily moments of encouragement, patience, and support truly mean. To our teachers: thank you for showing up, building connections, and making a lasting impact on your students’ lives every single day. We appreciate you not just this week, but all year long! 👏👏 Video Link: https://youtu.be/ytxfIxRCUJ8
A huge THANK YOU to our Patrick Henry PTO and Student Council for making Teacher Appreciation Week so special! 🐾 From cookies and treats to breakfast, lunch, and ice cream, every thoughtful gesture throughout the week reminded our staff how valued and appreciated they are. We also want to thank our students and families for their encouraging words, smiles, and continued support each day. We are grateful to be part of such a caring and supportive school community. Patrick Henry is a special place because of all of YOU! 💛💙

Huge thanks to Dr. Zack Schulte and Dr. Marianna Madeo from Augustana College for bringing science to life for our 7th grade students at Patrick Henry Middle School! 🔬⚗️ Students were amazed and entertained as they explored chemical reactions, chemical and physical changes, and how matter exchanges energy through exciting hands-on demonstrations. Seeing the concepts they’ve studied all year come alive through real-world applications made for an unforgettable learning experience!

🎤 8th Grade Poetry Slam 🎤
Earlier this week, our 8th graders took the stage and shared their voices at this year’s Patrick Henry Poetry Slam! Students spent time crafting original poems in their ELA classes, and representatives from each team were selected to perform in front of the entire 8th grade class. It’s such a fun tradition and a great reminder of the creativity, courage, and talent in this group. As the year winds down, moments like these make the memories even more special. 💙💛
