Tickets will go on sale next week, October 21-25 for the Patrick Henry Dance . Students must purchase a ticket in advance from their PRO teacher if they plan to attend the dance on Friday, November 1. We invite students to come and enjoy time with their friends and show off their dance moves!

During our Staff Inservice earlier this week, there was a special surprise - guests from Architecture Incorporated stopped by to award a grant to Mrs. Meyer for a proposal she submitted! The grant money will be used to build reusable set pieces for the school musical and theater class. All of the pieces that will be built will be reused and transformed year after year to make the PHMS musical sets come alive! Congratulations Mrs. Meyer and we thank Architecture Incorporated for supporting teachers in the Sioux Falls School District! 👏👏

The Patrick Henry Marching Band 2024 season was one to remember! Highlights of the season include performing at the Lincoln High School Homecoming game and marching in the Festival of Bands parade! The song performed was “Let it Fly Now” from the Rocky Soundtrack. The band even set a school record with 175 participants! Way to go, Panther Marching Band!

Last week, SDSU hosted Patrick Henry 8th graders for an exciting educational experience at South Dakota State University. The purpose of the visit was for students to get a glimpse of what could be possible for their futures as they soon begin their journey to high school and beyond. In the words of Marian Wright Edelman, "You can't be what you can't see." Students viewed a science demonstration, heard from current SDSU students and attended an academic fair that highlighted some of the areas of study at SDSU!

Even though it's a short week, there are still plenty of activities for the week of October 14-18!

8th Grade Families - Check out the PBL Open House at Jefferson High School this Thursday, October 17 from 6:00-7:30 pm.

Team 7-3 has been busy saving the world in geography by protecting us from the notorious Gang of 14. Using clues like longitude, latitude, and altitude as well as reading climographs, teams had to locate each member and learn what they know before time ran out! In math, they solved a Slope Escape room by working with their team to solve tasks that led them to the final word that would "unlock the room!" They also started their first Junior Achievement lesson that focused on income and taxes! Keep working hard, Team 7-3!

🍎Meet the New Staff at Patrick Henry! 🍎
We’re excited to introduce the amazing educators who’ve joined our Panther family this year! They bring energy, passion, experience and dedication! Let’s give them a warm Panther welcome!

It was National Custodian Day earlier this week!
They are the quiet heroes of our school. They are the first to arrive each day, clean up messes that no one dares to touch and they befriend everyone that passes by. Thank you to Jeremiah, Jared, John, Jacob and Don! We appreciate all you do at Patrick Henry!

8th grade Bass and Cello players had the opportunity to spend the day at USD in Vermillion. They learned and performed with middle and high school orchestra students from South Dakota, Iowa, and Nebraska. They rehearsed, watched performances and had master classes throughout the day.

6th graders on Teams 6-1 and 6-2 recently took a journey through the water cycle. They visited stations for rivers, lakes, clouds, glaciers and more to simulate the path of a water drop! The chains are a physical reminder of the journey they took - each color represents a different station!

Earlier this week, School Board Member, Marc Murren, visited Patrick Henry to get a first-hand experience of the work staff do each day to educate and prepare students! Thank you for visiting our school, Mr. Murren!
