Team 6-2 students recently completed an exciting entrepreneurship project in their math and ELA classes. Inspired by the TV show "Shark Tank," students developed a business idea and prepared a sales pitch. Community leaders and teachers were invited to be the "Sharks." Thank you to the those that participated and demonstrated what leadership looks like for our students.
The Old Courthouse Museum brought their interactive presentations to Patrick Henry last week to help 8th graders better understand the life of a Union soldier during the Civil War.

⚽Congratulations to the 8th grade Boys' and Girls' soccer teams along with Coach Garry and Coach Heister on a great season! The boys ended with a 3-1-1 record and the girls ended with a 4-1 record!

Three Patrick Henry teachers recently received Public School Proud Grants.
🎉Mrs.Fischer and Mrs. Weaver received funds to support their proposal called “Math Magic.” With grant funds, they plan to purchase math games that will reinforce grade-level content and review key principles. Thank you, Omnitech, for generously supporting STEM education in our classrooms!
🎉Mrs. Johnson also received a grant for her proposal, “Linoleum Block Printmaking.” She plans to purchase printing blocks, ink, brayers, and inking plates for 460 students. Thank you, Winker family, for investing in art educators so they can give students unique opportunities like this!

Yesterday, our WEB leaders welcomed the incoming class of 6th graders for the 2025-2026 school year during their visit to Patrick Henry! Students toured the building and learned more about a typical day as a 6th grader! Welcome to the Patrick Henry community upcoming 6th graders and families!

Patrick Henry 8th Grader, Max Wang, and our MathCounts Coach, Miss Haugland, have been in Washington, D.C. the past few days representing Team South Dakota at the MATHCOUNTS National Competition. Max was 1 of 4 Mathletes from across the state. Great Job, Max!

🎶🎶 The Patrick Henry Orchestras had their final concert last week. They performed works from Beethoven and Mozart to Coldplay and Michael Jackson. The program even included a student arrangement of Baby Shark conducted by another student. We are incredibly proud of the growth our students have made this year and the wonderful performance they put on that night! Our Panthers continue to set new records on the track! Evan Lindsey, Behr Rients, Gabe Reiser and Brogan Carder broke the former Patrick Henry 8th Grade Boys 4x100 meter relay time of 48.74 seconds from 2013 with a new time of 48.11 seconds! Congrats! 👏
Tomorrow, May 9, is the last day for the Penny War Fundraiser to support Ronald McDonald House Charities and we need your help! Empty the coins from your pockets, search under couch cushions and send the spare change hiding in the cup holders of your car to school with your child to fill the buckets!
